El desarrollo de este proyecto en el Espai d´art contemporani de Castelló está determinado por la complejidad de puesta en escena, de visibilización de las propuestas en lo que se refiere a la combinación de distintos formatos de imagen digital. Destacando además que en la mayoría de los casos el campo expandido de la producción feminista en el espacio electrónico favorece una interrelación del espacio real y el virtual como propio de la condición postmedia de nuestra cultura. En su conjunto Cyberfem hace presente una nueva forma de concepción del espacio público como espacio político.

Ante un estado de confrontación, conflicto, y ambigüedad permanente, el posicionamiento sería la práctica clave para fundar el conocimiento organizado alrededor de la imaginería de la visión. El posicionamiento implica responsabilidad y compromiso político. Las tecnologías son formas de vida, órdenes sociales, prácticas de visualización. Las disputas del mundo son disputas sobre el cómo ver. ¿Cómo debemos mirar? ¿Desde dónde debemos mirar?

"Cyberfem" pretende incidir en este proceso y preguntarse por sus posibles desarrollos futuros. En el contexto de los actuales conflictos geopolíticos, económicos, y culturales, un (cyber) feminismo ampliado o expandido puede colaborar a través de políticas parciales a mantener abiertos los presupuestos de la diferencia en relación al mismo orden social, a la visualización de la diferencia.

Pipilotti Rist was born in Grabs in the Swiss Rhine valley in 1962. She studied commercial art, illustration and photography at the Institute of Applied Arts in Vienna from 1982-86, before attending the School of Design in Basel to focus on audio visual communications. She lives and works in Zurich, in the mountains and in Los Angeles Her favorite number is 54. She is against taboos and stereotypes with emotion and humour. Her work explores female sexuality and media culture as she merges visions of fantasy with everyday life.

To the Point: Women Telling Stories Through Media

Since 2003, NYWIFT and the Hamptons International Film Festival have teamed up to present To The Point: Women Telling Stories through Media, a series of short films and videos by members of Women in Film and Television chapters around the world.

This year, the fourth annual series will screen eight exceptional shorts — fictional narratives, animations, documentaries and experimental films and videos — that celebrate unorthodox and original perspectives on the experiences of women from all walks of life. Program selections were made jointly be a panel of NYWIFT filmmakers and the Hamptons Festival Programming Department.

The Hamptons International Film Festival continues its support of female filmmakers. This year, half of its program selections are made up of films directed by women.
